3 Keys To Building High-Quality Relationships That Last

If I were to give one piece of advice to my younger self, it would be to focus on building high-quality relationships.

Investing in powerful relationships is so important and extremely essential to your success.

What you want to find is people that will grow with you and push you forward. Cut off any relationships that aren’t adding value in your life and continue to surround yourself with the right people.

These people will teach you, support you, and encourage you to keep going.

There are so many ways that you can connect with others, but these three, in particular, have become my go-to’s for building long-term, quality relationships:

#1  Find The Right Mentors

I’ll start out by saying that I think this is the most important and crucial component of your success.

None of us become great or powerful without the help of others – especially those who have already become successful in what it is that you would like to accomplish.

The worst assumption you can make is thinking that you can figure everything out for yourself.

Not only will you waste countless hours of your time and energy doing so, but you will find yourself overwhelmed and frustrated. These emotions often lead people to feel inadequate and left questioning if they’re even cut out for achieving such big goals.

When you find a mentor and allow them to guide you in your journey, you put yourself ahead of the game.

You are literally partnering up with someone who has the answers you’re looking for, that will give you the clarity and direction you need to succeed.

#2  Connect With Like-Minded People

One of the most important pieces of growing your network and connecting with others is remaining genuine.

If you’re true to yourself and your objectives, it will be much easier for you to build valuable, long-term relationships.

Afterall, there’s no point of trying to connect with anyone and everyone by people-pleasing and being something that you’re not. You’ll only be doing yourself a disservice by connecting with the wrong people.

Be upfront from the start, and focus on meeting like-minded people who will inspire you and push you towards greatness.

They don’t have to be just like you or have the same exact goals. What matters is that they are enthusiastic, motivated, positive thinkers that are happy to share their knowledge and experience with you.

#3  Add Value & Become A Resource

Remember that all relationships take time, energy, and effort to grow.

You can’t take take take without giving people something in return. In fact, you should be giving WAY more than you’re ever taking from someone else. Show people that you have their back and will go above and beyond to help them.

Become a resource to others by adding so much value that they can’t possibly forget you.

Your investment in these new relationships will certainly pay off tenfold if you’re willing to put in the work.

Prioritize others, and you’ll start to see them prioritizing you. Take the time to listen to what they’re struggling with, and they will want to do the same for you.

It all comes back to that tried-and-true golden rule… “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

Relationships are monumental to your growth and success. Plant the seeds, water them often, and watch them grow!
