How to Balance Your Life

Life can be challenging when you have numerous things to balance including work, socializing with friends, making time for family, and getting an adequate amount of sleep every night. We all want to be successful in each part of our lives, but it can be very difficult to ace all of them equally.

At one point in my life, I was failing in some of these areas which lead me to not being satisfied with the life that I was living. Therefore, I decided to make a change in order to hit all of these areas in my life.

Society divides out our life into three pieces that everyone wants to be good at: having a social life which includes family, accelerating at work, and being able to sleep a good amount each night. The myth off of these three areas is that you can obtain two of these three areas respectively or attain all three mediocrely.

Well I have managed to attain all three areas in my life sufficiently.

Want to know my secret of how I choose to have a satisfied life?

It’s all about balance.

You need to balance your life out in order to know when it’s the right time to stop work, go home, and spend time with family and friends. When you do what you love it can sometimes be hard to step away from your work to engage in daily activities, which has happened to me before. However, what I have learned from that is you still need to have fun when you are going through your journey.

Every day I put aside two hours for me to workout with my girlfriend, I block out those two hours to only do that. This is something that I do every single day because for one, if I don’t workout I go crazy because that is my time to unwind and reenergize to keep grinding through the day. Two, that is quality time that I get to spend with my girlfriend while we workout together.

Doing things like this helps you with your daily schedules but it also allows you to see your friends and loved ones throughout it. If you go to a designated area or office space to do work it’s important to set an exact time when you leave the office to go home and be with your family. I know some people who have kids and once the clock hits 5 they drop work and return home. This makes you get your work done and then have an adequate amount of time for family and friends.

When you are an entrepreneur we choose to work how many hours we want. When we are building up our companies it is super easy to work well over 40 hours a week. However, sometimes we surpass that and cut out sleep in order to keep working towards the things that we want to accomplish. That is not a good idea because once we lack sleep it becomes hazardous to our health. Sleep is what keeps you energized and gets you throughout the day, therefore I always make that a priority each and every day.

These small things have helped me lived a fulfilled and balanced life. I get to grind on the times that I set and get to spend the rest of the time with the people that I love.

Once you master that, the rest becomes easy.
